Iranian Minister: Oil Sales Hit New Record Amid US Sanctions

Iran’s Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced that the country's oil sales during the last 14 months have hit a new record despite US-led pressures and embargoes.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet session on Wednesday, Paknejad said the process of selling oil is ongoing but it cannot be discussed in the media because the enemies will identify the ways the country is circumventing the existing sanctions.“We hope that some day we can explain these processes so that you see how the sales team sells oil with tactfulness and people would not be concerned about this issue,” he added.
Iran has reported consistent rises in its oil production and exports since 2021, years after US President Donald Trump enforced a harsh regime of sanctions on buyers of Iranian oil during his first term in office.Iranian officials have dismissed Washington's economic pressures against Tehran as futile, and stressed that the United States' claim about cutting Iran’s oil exports to zero is impractical, stressing that Tehran will continue to sell oil to its international customers despite US endeavours to increase pressure on Iran’s energy sector.Trump has restored his so-called “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran, which he practiced in his first presidential term after unilaterally withdrawing Washington from the nuclear accord.Iranian officials have stressed that Trump's reimposition of a policy of "maximum pressure" against Tehran will end in failure as it did during his first term in office. They have downplayed the White House's threat to cut off Iran’s oil exports, stressing that Tehran has several options to neutralize Washington's sanctions.
The minister also stated that the recent tariffs and the so-called snapback of sanctions against Iran would not restrict the country’s oil exports.
