Military Chief: US, Israel Focusing on Destabilizing Iran After 12-Day War Defeat
Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi stated that Washington and the Zionist regime are waging “soft warfare” to destabilize Iran after heavy defeat during the 12‑day imposed war in June.
He said on Sunday the Iranian nation will rely on its Iranian-Islamic identity and its nature of peace-seeking and resistance against enemies, and will never allow rioters and the deceived to act against the country.“The enemies, particularly the United States and Israeli regime, are focused on fueling insecurity in Iran by making use of the tools of soft warfare to make up for their defeat in the 12-day imposed war,” he added.After the United States and the Israeli regime suffered a clear defeat and grew disillusioned with their fruitless onslaught, they turned to soft warfare and economic pressure in a bid to “create insecurity and unrest in the country as a way to compensate for their failure,” the top general emphasized.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant aggression against Iran, triggering a 12-day war that martyred at least 1,000 people in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and ordinary civilians.The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in a grave violation of international law.In response, the Iranian Armed Forces targeted strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the assault.
Mousavi said that shopkeepers and merchants voiced their rightful and legitimate demands for stabilizing the exchange rate and improving business conditions.The US and the Israeli regime “hastily and excitedly” deployed their trained agents to exploit the protests and disrupt national security and peace through psychological operations and cognitive warfare tactics, he added.
