Iranian FM: Israel Source of Regional Instability, Insecurity
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi has rebuked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that the Zionist regime is the anchor of security and stability in West Asia.
Writing on X on Friday, Araqchi said the so-called "anchor" of security and stability in the region is wanted for genocide and war crimes, has imposed apartheid on 7.5 million Palestinians, bombed seven countries over the past year, and has occupied Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian territory".
Israel’s war on Gaza alone has killed more than 68,850 people and wounded over 170,600 since October 2023.Thousands are still believed to be under the Gaza Strip’s ruins, while Israel has killed dozens in strikes on Yemen and killed more than 1,000 people when it attacked Iran in June.It increased raids in the occupied West Bank; killed over 4,000 people in Lebanon while eviscerating swaths of villages; invaded and occupied Lebanese and Syrian land.Israel has recently attacked a compound in the Qatari capital used by Hamas. The Palestinian movement announced its leadership had managed to survive the attack.
The Iranian diplomat emphasized that “Israel is the source of instability and insecurity in our region".
