Intelligence Minister: Israel Assisted by Dozens of Spy Services During War with Iran
Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib stated that more than 50 foreign intelligence services provided support for the Zionist regime during the latter's war against the Islamic Republic in June which resulted in martyrdom of over 1,000, including civilians.
“We have no trust in any negotiation with America that claims to secure our national interests,” Khatib said on Wednesday.According to the minister, Washington’s claims of pursuing talks with Iran mask its “hostility towards the Iranian nation".He cited extensive efforts by the US, the Israeli regime, and the country’s other enemies at subversion, sowing chaos, and disintegrating the country during the 12-day war, which was imposed by Washington and Tel Aviv in June.
He noted how the unprovoked aggression had been preceded by years of the enemies’ seeking to isolate Iran through massive propaganda, turn the world against it, and drive the people away from the country’s Islamic Revolution.Throughout the assault, the adversaries sought to implement a comprehensive hybrid operation by employing the latest Western technologies and warfare knowledge, the minister added.The war, he remarked, had also been preceded by multiple joint drills, organization of counterrevolutionary elements, reviving of terrorist networks, and mobilization of the world’s media arsenal to spread Iranophobia and Shiaphobia.The adversaries had even planned to send all the Takfiri terrorists released from Syria and Afghanistan towards the country, he stated.The minister also emphasized that more than 50 foreign intelligence services contributed to the hostile attempts.
According to Khatib, these developments as well as similar onslaught waged by the Israeli regime through American support against such parts of the world as Gaza and Lebanon, debunks the enemies’ so-called “peace through strength” claim.“The whole world now understands the true meaning of ‘peace through strength’ by these criminals,” he continued, noting that the claim actually translates into “submission through crime".Khatib, however, praised the strategic prowess exercised by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the successful defensive and retaliatory operations that were staged by the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces, and the deep-seated unity within various ranks across the country for foiling the hybrid warfare.
The Israeli regime unleashed its war against Iran on June 13, with American backing, assassinating several top-ranking military commanders, scientists, and martyring hundreds of civilians, including women and children.On the same day, the Iranian Armed Forces launched an unprecedented retaliatory military campaign against the occupied territories.More than 1,000 people were martyred and over 5,600 injured in the Israeli regime’s attacks.The US joined the Israeli regime in the aggression on June 22 and bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities. Contrary to President Donald Trump’s claims, a leaked preliminary assessment by the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) found that the American military raids on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months.
A day later, Iran carried out a wave of missiles at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the largest American military base in West Asia—in retaliation for the assault.As Tehran pounded Israel and its military and industrial infrastructure, the Tel Aviv regime was forced to unilaterally cease its onslaught against Iran on June 24. Following the unilateral move, Iran too, halted its retaliatory campaign after carrying out 22 waves of successful attacks against the Israeli-occupied territories.The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has cautioned the US and the Zionist regime that any recurrence of onslaught will draw a response much harsher than the retaliatory military operations Tehran launched against the American Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar as well as the occupied territories.
