Daesh Member Hanged in Iran

Iran’s Judiciary on Wednesday executed a member of the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group who had plans to carry out terror attacks inside the country.
Iranian Judiciary authorities executed a member of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group convicted of plotting to carry out terrorist attacks in the country.According to a statement published by the public relations office of the Iranian Judiciary, the execution took place on Wednesday morning after the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence following extensive legal proceedings. The convict was identified as Mehdi Asqarzadeh. He was executed after he was found guilty on charges of “corruption on earth” through extensive activity in the terrorist Daesh group and acting against the country’s public security.Judicial records show that the individual, better known by the noms de guerre Abu Khalid and Hussam, received military training in Syria and Iraq, and sought to perpetrate acts of terror in Iran.Abu Khalid traveled to Syria after joining Takfiri terrorist groups, and received military and ideological training at the Daesh’s main bastion there.During his time in Syria, he took part in several Daesh offensives and was injured in one of them. After getting injured in Syria, Abu Khalid was transferred to Daesh’s stronghold in neighboring Iraq and underwent training there. He then sneaked into Iran from Iraq’s Kurdistan region, along with five other terrorists. They aimed to hire a number of individuals in order to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks.
The terrorists apparently had undergone thorough training courses in Iraq on how to carry out terrorist attacks in urban areas.Based on the instructions and training that Abu Khalid and his aides had received in Iraq, each of them was supposed to target a certain religious site.Once at the site, they would initially toss a hand grenade at the crowd. They would then open indiscriminate fire on people when they gathered to help the injured, and would ultimately pull the trigger of their suicide belt and blow themselves up among the crowd after getting wounded or whenever security forces came to arrest them.Through the surveillance of Iranian intelligence forces, the hideout of the terrorists was identified and located before they could conduct an act of terror.Several Kalashnikov assault rifles with magazines, suicide belts, hand grenades, a significant number of remote-controlled explosives and improvised explosive devices, bomb timers, electric fuses, electric blasting caps, a large number of mobile antennas for remote-controlled bombs, and handheld radios were among the devices recovered from the Daesh terrorists’ hideout. After examination of documents provided by judicial officials, the defendant was sentenced to death. The Supreme Court later reviewed the initial ruling and upheld it. Following the conclusion of all legal procedures, the sentence was implemented in accordance with the court’s final verdict.
Iran has played a major role in fighting terrorism and extremism in West Asia over the past years, evidenced by its staunch support for the anti-Daesh fight during the past decade.Iranian security agents have in recent years nabbed several terrorist networks affiliated with the foreign-backed notorious terror group. The militants were involved in making explosives and hand-made bombs and linked to foreigners and planned to carry out counter-security acts and terror operations.Iran has been the target of terrorist attacks in the past few decades and thousands of its citizens have been martyred by the terrorist groups supported by certain Western states. Iranian officials stress that the country is a victim of terrorism.
