Pezeshkian: Agreement with US within Reach If Trump Avoids Bullying

President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the path to a deal with the United States is open if Washington abandons the bullying tactics in the negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
During a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani in Tehran on‌ Sunday, Pezeshkian stressed that reaching an accord with the United States is possible but only if Washington puts aside its bullying tactics. The president emphasized that Tehran will never yield to pressure.
The remarks came amid heightened rhetoric from US President Donald Trump against Iran despite ongoing discussions between the two sides. On countless occasions, the American leader has threatened to tap military action if the two sides fail to agree on an accord. Moreover, American officials have stated that any deal between the US and Iran must include an agreement not to enrich uranium—a stance Tehran has overwhelmingly dismisses.Iranian officials complained that Tehran had received contradictory messages from the US as different individuals express different views. Tehran has emphasized that it will not compromise its right to enrich uranium, but indicated may be open to limit the rate of enrichment "to help build trust".
The Qatari diplomat, for his part, stated that Doha has always supported the legitimate rights of Iran and stood by Tehran.Pointing to the sensitive conditions prevailing in West Asia and the world, Al Thani added that the situation requires expanded interactions and sustained close cooperation among regional countries.
