Iran Cautions Regional States over US Seditious, Divisive Actions
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi asked Baghdad to be wary of Washington’s seditious and divisive actions which have no aim but to destroy friendly relations between regional states in line with the goals of Israel.
During a telephone conversation with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hussein on Monday, Araqchi called for immediate action by the international community, especially regional and Islamic countries, to stop Israel’s crimes, and prevent further insecurity and instability in West Asia.He also touched on the serious threats posed by the United States abuse of its bases in regional countries and their airspace for onslaught against regional nations.The minister stressed that all countries in the region should take necessary measures to prevent their territory from being used by foreign military forces to make other countries insecure and take necessary measures to protect their national sovereignty.He urged neighboring and friendly countries to be careful about seditions stoked by Washington.Referring to the illegal US sanctions against the Iranian oil industry, Araqchi stated that the claims made by US officials to exert pressure on Iran have no basis or credibility.
Iranian officials have stressed that Tehran is prepared to deal with any possible event following the reimposition of so-called "maximum pressure" campaign by the United States.US President Donald Trump has recently restored his so-called “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran, which he practiced in his first presidential term after unilaterally withdrawing Washington from the 2015 nuclear accord.Recently, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Washington's sanctions against Tehran are designed to shut down its oil industry and “collapse its already buckling economy".Tehran says Bessent’s hostile remarks clearly indicate the continuation of hostility of American policymakers towards the Iranian people.Iranian officials pointed to the failure of the US policy of pressure and intimidation against the nation at different junctures, adding it is a “clear violation of the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter and international law which is subject to international responsibility for the US government."Sources familiar with the matter have recently told Reuters that Washington is considering a plan to stop and inspect Iranian oil tankers at sea under an international accord aimed at countering "the spread of weapons of mass destruction".Iran: US Continuation of Maximum Pressure Campaign Crime Against Humanity Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has stated Tehran is not concerned that Trump may decide to toughen sanctions on the country’s oil exports. He added that Tehran has some valuable experiences in getting around Washington’s sanctions.Paknejad has stressed that the United States will never achieve its dream of cutting Iran’s oil exports to zero as touted by Trump.“Blocking Iran’s oil exports is an unattainable dream,” he added.He insisted that Iran will always come up with solutions to circumvent US bans on its oil exports.The Iraqi foreign minister, for his part, expressed his deep concern about the developments in the region and the serious dangers resulting from the continued offensive against Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.He also emphasized the need for consensus and cooperation among regional countries to help alleviate the suffering of the oppressed Palestinian people and prevent the peace of the entire region from being jeopardized.
