Iran‌ Slams Trump's Plan to Forcibly Displace Gazans to Neighboring Countries

Iran dismissed US President Donald Trump’s plan to forcibly relocate the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan.
Writing on X on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei refuted a proposal by Washington to forcibly move Gazan Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan as unacceptable.“The idea of cleaning out Gaza as part of the plan for the colonial annihilation of Palestinian people has long been underway using American lethal weapons and ammunition, as well as its political, intelligence and financial support,” the Iranian diplomat stated. He added the Israeli regime’s 15-month-long campaign of genocide has failed to uproot the Palestinians, and that political coercion and demographic manipulations could not force them to leave.“This is their homeland and they've paid extremely high price to remain there and continue their heroic struggle for self-determination and freedom,” the spokesperson continued.
Trump has suggested that neighboring Arab countries should take in Palestinian refugees and “clean out” the embattled Gaza. Both Cairo and Amman have rejected the idea of displacing Palestinians from the besieged enclave. The Palestinian Authority has also stressed that it would rebuff any plans of displacement. The overwhelming majority of Gaza's population has been displaced by Israel’s 15-month war, which has devastated much of the coastal enclave and killed more than 47,000 people and injured over 111,000 others. After failing to achieve its objectives in the war, Israel was forced to accept a ceasefire deal with Hamas. The long-awaited agreement went into effect last Sunday. In the days since the ceasefire, Hamas has shown itself to be deeply entrenched in the blockaded territory despite Israel's vow to destroy the group. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November 2024 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.#Iran#Gaza#Trump#Israel
