IRGC Chief Warns Israel of Harsh Punishment over Attack on Iran
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami warned the Zionist regime of crushing and decisive response after it attacked Iranian military facilities.
Maj. Gen. Salami on Monday offered his condolences on the martyrdom of four Air Defense Force servicemen in the recent “evil and aggressive” attack by the Zionist regime against a number of sites in Iran. The “illegitimate and unlawful” attack by Israel, which was repelled thanks to the Iranian Air Defense’s preparedness, revealed the Zionist regime’s “miscalculation and its frustration in the battlefield in the war against the combatants of the great front of Islamic resistance, especially in Gaza and Lebanon", he added. The senior commander also warned that the Israeli act of aggression will certainly have "bitter and unimaginable consequences" for the regime.
The Israeli Army targeted military centers in the Iranian provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam in the early hours of Saturday despite warnings from Tehran that any adventurism by the Zionist regime would face a harsh response.Iran announced its air defense system intercepted and countered the attacks, with limited damage reported in some areas. At least five, including four Iran's Army's servicemen as well as a civilian, have been martyred in Israel's attacks against the country.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has stressed that the Zionist regime’s miscalculation should be thwarted, and the Israelis need to understand the power, determination and innovation of the Iranian nation. He emphasized that Israel’s evil act should “neither be exaggerated nor downplayed".Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also stated that Tehran is not seeking war but will give an appropriate response to Israel's latest assault.“We do not seek war, but we will defend the rights of our nation and country. We will give an appropriate response to the aggression of the Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian said.Iran’s Foreign Ministry has also condemned the Israeli assault against the country’s military installations as a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, especially the principle that prohibits threats or use of force against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries. It also defended Tehran’s right “to defend itself against external aggressive moves”.
