Iran's President Condemns Israel's Massacre of Palestinian Children
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly censured the Israeli killing of children in the Gaza Strip in a message issued on the occasion of the National Children’s Day.
Writing on X on Monday, Pezeshkian said that the world should be a safe place for children, adding that the children have the right to live happily and in peace despite wars and chaos in the current world. “The genocide of thousands of innocent children in Gaza has made this year’s Children’s Day a bitter occasion for the people,” the president noted.
Defense for Children International-Palestine has announced that Israeli soldiers have killed nearly 17,000 children in the besieged coastal enclave since October 7 of last year.“Israeli policies, nonstop bombardment, and ever-expanding ground invasion forcibly displaced children and their families from their homes, forced schools to close, starved children to death, detained and tortured children in Israeli military camps, and disabled thousands of children, many of whom suffer from life-long injuries,” the rights group announced in a statement. The Palestinian death toll in Israel’s war on Gaza is nearing 42,000 with almost 100,000 people wounded over the past year. The vast majority of the dead are children and women.
