Iran Strongly Condemns Israeli Desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kana'ani strongly condemned the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by two far-right Israeli ministers and a crowd of settlers, stressing that the provocative act shows that the Zionist regime seeks to flame tension in West Asia.
Writing on X on Tuesday, Kana'ani said the incursion by some Israeli ministers and Zionist settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is "a blatant desecration of Muslim sanctities, a violation of the rights of Muslims worldwide, and a provocative step meant to foment tensions, instability and insecurity in the region".The top diplomat denounced the unlawful and controversial act, calling upon the international community, particularly Muslim nations and governments, to show a strong reaction in response.“The international community and world bodies have an objective and immediate responsibility to stop the Zionist regime’s barbaric actions, which are in violation of international rules and regulations,” he added.
Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led a crowd of thousands into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on Tuesday. Minister of Negev and Galilee Affairs Yitzhak Wasserlauf and other members of the Israeli Knesset reportedly joined the march.Despite Jewish religious rites being banned at the location, Israeli police reportedly offered protection, as well as to illegal settlers involved in violence in the West Bank. Israeli police also “imposed restrictions” on Muslim worshippers trying to enter the mosque.Al-Aqsa is Islam’s third holiest site and a symbol of Palestinian national identity.Tension and violence between Israel settlers, police and the military on one side, and Palestinians on the other, has spiked since Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip began in October. The Palestinian Authority announced that more than 620 Palestinians, including 145 children, have been killed. Thousands have been arrested or forced from their homes due to demolitions and land confiscations, over the past 10 months.
Kana'ani stated that the Israeli settlers’ incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque was aimed at exacerbating tensions.“This wicked move is indicative of the undeniable fact that the leaders of the Israeli regime intend to advance their warmongering policies through hurting the religious feelings of Palestinian Muslims and the Muslim world,” he said.He emphasized that the United States and certain Western countries should immediately restrain the criminal Tel Aviv regime, help end the ongoing genocide in the besieged enclave and stop the Zionist entity’s adventurism in Palestine and elsewhere in the region if they are genuinely concerned about security and stability in West Asia.#Iran#Israel#Al_Aqsa
