Iranian Athletes Bag 2 More Medals at 2024 Olympics

Greco-Roman wrestler Mohammad Hadi Saravi and taekwondo athlete Mobina Nematzadeh grabbed gold and bronze medals, respectively, at the 2024 Olympic Games on Wednesday.
The 19-years-old Nematzadeh made history in Paris after winning a bronze medal at the women's flyweight division at the Olympics 2024.The Iranian girl beat her Saudi opponent 2-0 in the bronze-medal match.Earlier, she defeated Michelle TauIn 2-0 from Lesotho in round of 16 and Adriana Cerezo Iglesias of Spain, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist and 2023 world bronze medalist, 2-0 in quarterfinals but lost to China’s Guo Qing in the semifinals.The young athlete became the second woman in history to have won a medal for Iran at Olympics.Thailand's Panipak Wongpattanakit won the gold medal, beating Guo Qing, who claimed silver.

At the 97-kg category of Greco-Roman wrestling, Saravi defeated his Armenian opponent and former Olympic and world champion Artur Aleksanyan, snatching the first gold medal for Iran.Despite initially trailing 0-1, Saravi delivered a solid performance to secure a 4-1 win in a tough match on Wednesday.
