Commander: Iran Likely to Revise Nuclear Policies in Case of Israeli Attack
Head of the Nuclear Protection and Security Corps General Ahmad Haq Talab cautioned Tehran may change its nuclear doctrine and policies and also strike Israel's nuclear facilities in case of Tel Aviv's attack on Iran's atomic centers.
"If the Zionist regime decides to take action against our nuclear sites, it will definitely face our reaction," Gen. Haqtalab said on Thursday. He cautioned that if Israel decides to use the threat of attacking Iran's nuclear centers as "a tool to put pressure" on Tehran, "it is possible and conceivable to revise the nuclear doctrine and policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and deviate from the previous reservations declared" by the country. The senior commander added Tehran has identified the location of all Israeli nuclear facilities and the necessary information about all the targets is at Iran's disposal."In order to respond to their possible actions, the hands are on the trigger, so to speak, for firing powerful missiles to destroy the identified targets," Gen. Haqtalab stressed. The stern warning came amid Israeli officials' suggestions of a possible strike on Iran's nuclear facilities following Tehran's retaliatory attack against the regime. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Sunday launched a military operation against the Israeli-occupied territories using hundreds of drones and missiles. The strikes came nearly two weeks after an Israeli raid on Tehran's consulate in Damascus martyred seven Iranian military advisors.
Iranian officials stated that they had “more success than expected” with the barrage. They described the "Operation True Promise" as a “necessary and proportional” punitive mission that has hit military targets within the occupied territories.Tehran stressed it does not seek an escalation of regional tensions and no more military action against the Zionist regime is on the agenda at the moment, but warned that Israel will receive much harsher response than the recent drone and missile strikes if it insists on crossing the Islamic Republic's red lines.Elsewhere in his remarks, Gen. Haq Talab said Israel's threats are not "a new thing", and the regime has engaged in "sabotage and terrorist acts" against Iran's nuclear industry."Although, based on international protocols and standards and the rules and regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency, all countries have been prevented from attacking nuclear facilities, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been prepared to deal with these threats from the very beginning," he stressed. He assured the nation that "Iran's nuclear centers are completely safe".#Iran#Iran_Nuclear_Program#Israel
