Iranian President: Israel's Assassination of IRGC Military Advisors A Desperate Move

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi labeled the recent attack by Tel Aviv against Tehran’s diplomatic mission in Damascus as well as relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip as the last-ditch attempts of a falling regime.
During a phone call with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-Assad on Tuesday, President Rayeesi lashed out at the West for continuing to provide financial and military support to Israel amid the Gaza war, and stressed the Zionist regime does not adhere to any of the humanitarian and international principles.Israel’s assassination of Iranian military advisors in Syria shows desperation and helplessness of the Zionist regime, Iran’s president stated, vowing that Tel Aviv will surely be punished for the terror attack against Tehran’s consulate in Damascus and its war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip."There is no doubt that Zionists and their supporters are responsible” for this terrorist attack in Syria and atrocities towards Gazans, he stressed.The president described Israel’s fatal raid on the diplomatic mission of Iran in Syria as one of the Zionist regime’s last-ditch efforts to evade death, warning that the punishment of the perpetrators of this crime is "definite and unchangeable".
The Monday aggression by the Zionist regime has resulted in the martyrdom of commander of the Quds Force of the IRGC in Syria and Lebanon Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, his deputy, and five of their accompanying officers.Since 2011, Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy, as a result of which Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL) and other terror groups emerged in the country.Iran maintains an advisory mission in the war-ravaged country at the request of Damascus, helping it in the face of foreign-backed terrorism. Several members of the IRGC have so far been martyred in the battle against terrorists in Syria.Israel has been a key supporter of terrorist groups during the war in the Middle Eastern country and has frequently targeted military positions inside Syria.Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has strongly condemned Israel’s assault, and warned that these crimes will surely receive fitting answer, and Iran will punish the Zionist regime and make the evil regime regret its crime of assassinating the country's military advisors in Syria.
During the telephone conversation, Assad accused the Zionist regime of continuing regional violence and brutality, further citing Gaza's ongoing conflict as evidence of Israel's "malevolent intentions”.The Syrian president stressed that the Zionist regime seeks to escape from the quagmire it is caught in by the Palestinian resistance in the besieged enclave, and emphasized the need to support the axis of resistance and punish Tel Aviv.#Iran#Israel#Syria
