Report: More Than 13,500 Israelis ‘Wounded from War’ Since October 2023

More than 13,500 Israelis have been injured and admitted for treatment at the rehabilitation department since October 7, 2023, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday.
The rehabilitation department of Israel’s Defence Ministry receives about 1,000 new people each month who have been “wounded from the war”, the broadcaster reported in a post on social media.Of those wounded, 51 percent are under the age of 30 years and 43 percent of the total are dealing with “psychological reactions”, the report said.Yediot Ahronoth daily also reported on Monday that at least 825 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, when the Zionist regime began taking the coastal sliver under a war of genocide. In early April, the Israeli Mental Health Association revealed a staggering surge of 950% in the number of Israelis seeking psychological support since the commencement of the Tel Aviv regime's genocidal war on the besieged enclave. The Israeli organization's findings indicate a surge in inquiries to their call center. The number of inquiries reached approximately 172,000, with around 33,000 requests per month, including 44,000 in the initial month, the report added.
Israel’s Walla website also quoted a statement by the organization that the number of daily inquiries has surged to 920 since the start of the war. The organization has also enlisted over 150 volunteers to provide much-needed psychological support to those seeking help.In late February, then-Israeli minister for military affairs, Yoav Gallant, highlighted the heavy toll the war was inflicting on the regime’s military."We are paying a very high price in our ranks...The costs we incur in terms of the numbers of deaths and injuries are very high,” he stated.Several Israeli soldiers have also taken their own lives in recent months, the Israeli media revealed, citing severe psychological distress caused by prolonged wars in Gaza and Lebanon as the primary cause.Israel’s October 2023-present genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has killed more than 45,500 people, mostly children and women, and injured over 108,000 others. The figures exclude tens of thousands of dead who are believed to be buried in the bombed-out ruins of homes, shops, shelters and other buildings. The military campaign has turned much of the enclave of 2.3 million people into ruins, leaving most civilians homeless and at risk of famine. The Palestinian territory has been identified as one of the places most likely to see deadly hunger levels in the coming months, according to a new report by United Nations food agencies.
Last month, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its deadly war on Gaza.
